Tharp to Start

BOISE, Idaho -- Boise State coach Chris Petersen announced Friday evening that fifth year Senior Taylor Tharp (Boulder, Colo./Fairview HS) was the winner of a tight battle for the starting quarterback position, edging junior Bush Hamdan and sophomore Nick Lomax.
Tharp has completed 32 of 47 passes for 359 yards and a two touchdowns during his two seasons as a backup to Jared Zabransky. He got significant playing time in three games during his sophomore season playing valuable minutes at Georgia, against Idaho and against Boston College in the MPC Computers Bowl.
