One and done, Colorado State knocks off Boise State 88-81 at MWC tourney

LAS VEGAS (AP) Antwan Scott scored 23 points, including the go-ahead basket, and sixth-seeded Colorado State defeated No. 3 seed Boise State 88-81 in a Mountain West Conference tournament semifinal Thursday night.

Scott hit a jumper for a 79-77 lead with 3:07 to go and added six straight points, including a 3-pointer, in a 9-2 game-ending run for the Rams (18-15), who will play second-seeded Fresno State in a semifinal Friday.

Scott's final point on a free throw with 31 seconds remaining put the Rams up nine points, the largest lead by either team in a game that had 17 lead changes and 17 ties.

John Gillon added 20 points, Joe De Ciman 18 and Tie Daniels 11 with 14 rebounds for Colorado State, which made 13 of 29 from the arc.

Nick Duncan scored 23 points, James Webb III 15 and Anthony Drmic 12 for Boise State. Drmic, a senior, fell two points short of becoming the school's all-time leading scorer.
