BOISE, Idaho— Gillette College guard Cameron Oluyitan signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Boise State men’s basketball program, head coach Leon Rice announced. Oluyitan (pronounced oh-loo-ee-uh-ten) will join the Broncos next season as a sophomore with three years of eligibility and a redshirt season still available.

“We are excited for Cameron to join our program,” said Rice. “He’s a tremendous player and a better person with really high character.”

Oluyitan is a 6-foot-6, 185-pound wing who helped the Pronghorns to a 35-2 record, the Region IX Conference title, District IX Championship and a third-place finish at the NJCAA National Tournament. In his only season at Gillette, Oluyitan averaged 14.6 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. He shot 52.2 percent from the field, including 41.4 percent from beyond the arc.

“Cameron is a winner,” Rice said. “He is a versatile perimeter player who has a knack for putting the ball in the hole. He shoots it very well from three and also has the ability to put it on the floor to make plays for himself and his teammates. He has a very bright future at Boise State.”

A native of Houston, Texas, Oluyitan attended Clements High School. As a senior he averaged 16 points and 10 rebounds as a senior on his way to first-team all-district honors. Oluyitan also played on the AAU circuit with The Rookies out of Houston.
