Bronco safety Jeron Johnson was named the Rivals.com Conference Player of the Week for the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) for Week three (Rivals.com Week 3 National Awards)
Johnson was also named the Defensive Player of the Week by the WAC following Boise State University's 20-7 win over Bowling Green State University this past Saturday (Sept. 13).
A sophomore from Compton, Calif. (Dominguez HS), Johnson led the Broncos in tackles with 13 (eight unassisted), including 1.5 behind the line of scrimmage for a loss of one yard. Johnson also broke up one pass and recovered two fumbles, both in the second half and both inside Boise State's 30-yard line.
In two games this season, Johnson leads the Bronco team in total tackles with 18.
Boise State makes its first road trip of the season this weekend when the Broncos travel to Eugene, Oregon to face the nationally ranked (12th in USA Today Coaches' poll and 17th in the Associated Press poll) Ducks of the University of Oregon. Kickoff is set for 12:37 p.m. (PT).
