What's at Stake
Boise State looks for redemption after losing last year at Hawaii in the season finale with the Western Athletic Conference title and BCS bid on the line. Hawaii is looking for its first win in Boise and third straight this season after a rocky start.
Key Matchup
Boise State's stingy defense, which allows a WAC-best 11.2 points per game, against Hawaii quarterback Inoke Funaki, whose scrambling skills have flustered opposing defenses since he took over the starting job two weeks ago in an upset at Fresno State. So far, Funaki has rushed for 200 yards and one touchdown.
Players to Watch
Boise State: Jeremy Childs, the first-team all-WAC receiver. So far, Childs leads the Broncos with 24 catches for 309 yards and a touchdown. He is coming off a 10-catch game against Southern Miss last week and sparked the offense early when the Broncos tacked on 24 points in the second quarter.
Hawaii: Linebacker Solomon Elimimian, the team leader in tackles with 43. His ability and veteran instincts will be key if the Warriors hope to stop Boise State's running game and make the Broncos' offense one dimensional.
