USAFA, Colo. - Boise State picked up win number 20 on the season behind an offensive barrage that ranks as one of the best in program history, routing Air Force 85-59 Wednesday night at Clune Arena.

The Broncos (20-6, 11-3 MW) shot a scorching 68.8 from the field (33-for-48) on the night, the most efficient shooting performance under head coach Leon Rice, and the best performance since shooting 70.3 percent against Montana Tech, Nov. 21, 2007. The Blue and Orange also shot a season-best 55.6-percent from behind the arc (10-of-18), the second-straight game shooting better than 50-percent from downtown.

Boise State opened the game with a monster first half, shooting 73.9 percent (17-23) from the field and 63.6 percent from behind the arc. Leading the way was Marcus Shaver, Jr., who scored 18 of his game-high 20 points on perfect 3-for-3 shooting from downtown in the opening period.

Shaver finished the night 7-of-11 from the floor while chipping in five rebounds and four assists.

After Air Force (10-14, 3-10 MW) built a 5-2 lead to start the game, Boise State responded with a 13-2 run, including five points from Lukas Milner. Milner finished the night with a career-high 13 points on a perfect 6-of-6 shooting performance from the floor. The Broncos closed the half outscoring the Falcons 12-4 in the final three-and-a-half minutes to take a 45-31 lead into the break, the highest scoring first half of the season for Boise State.

Mladen Armus opened the second half scoring Boise State’s first seven points, finishing the night with 10 points and leading the Broncos with six assists, tying his career high. The score came as close as 11 points at the 14:49 mark before Boise State rattled off nine-straight to increase its advantage to 20.

Max Rice scored 11 of his 14 points in the second half and finished the night shooting 4-of-8 from 3-point range. In his last two games Rice has shot 46.7 percent from beyond the arc (7-15).

The Broncos collected win number 20 on the season, the ninth time Boise State has earned 20-or-more wins in the Leon Rice era. This was the sixth road conference win of the season for Boise State, which ties the program record, a feat accomplished six times previously. There have been 22 instances of a team winning at least six conference road games in Mountain West history, and 16 of the 22 previous teams have won at least a share of the regular-season title.

The Broncos return to ExtraMile Arena for back-to-back games, hosting Utah State, Saturday (Feb. 19) and San Diego State, Tuesday (Feb. 22). Tipoff against Utah State is set for 4 p.m. and will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.
