Bronco Men's Nonconference Schedule Complete

BOISE, Idaho - Boise State men’s basketball completed its 2021-22 nonconference schedule, head coach Leon Rice announced Tuesday. The Broncos will welcome seven opponents to ExtraMile Arena as part of their 13-game slate prior to Mountain West play, starting with the season opener Nov. 9 against Utah Valley.

The home schedule features three matchups against teams who finished last season in the top 150 of the NCAA NET Rankings. St. Louis, who finished the 2020-21 season one spot ahead of the Broncos at No. 52, will visit ExtraMile Arena Nov. 30. The same week, the Broncos will host Tulsa (No. 127 NET) on Dec. 3. Santa Clara (No. 131 NET) comes to town Dec. 14.

Boise State will also host Montana Tech (Nov. 26), Prairie View A&M (Dec. 10) and Cal State Fullerton (Dec. 19).

Season tickets can be purchased online, over the phone at (208) 426-4737, or in person at the Boise State Athletic Ticket Office on the west side of Albertsons Stadium.

The Broncos will play two true road games and four neutral-site contests during the nonconference schedule. The road slate kicks off Nov. 13, at UC Irvine. The Anteaters finished the 2020-21 campaign at No. 102 in the NCAA NET Rankings. Boise State will also play at CSUN, Dec. 7.

The 2021 Shriners Children’s Charleston Classic highlights the neutral-site portion of Boise State’s schedule. Six of the eight teams in the field finished last year in the top 100 of the NCAA NET Rankings, including Boise State’s first-round opponent St. Bonaventure, which checked in at No. 31.

The Broncos will close out their nonconference slate in a neutral-site matchup against Washington State at Spokane Arena. It will be just the seventh all-time meeting between the regional foes and the first since 2007. The Cougars finished last season at No. 84 in the NCAA NET Rankings.

Boise State features 12 returners in 2021-22, including three starters and two All-Mountain West selections from a year ago. A school-record seven Broncos averaged at least eight points per game last season. Five of them will be back in the Blue and Orange this year, marking the most returners who averaged at least eight points per game the year prior since 1983-84.

Head coach Leon Rice enters his 12th season at the helm. Rice is the all-time wins leader in Boise State men's basketball history and has led the Broncos to six national postseason tournaments, including the first two at-large bids to the NCAA Tournament in program history.
