Boise State campers weigh in on visits

Boise State has had several visitors the past few weeks as discussed in our premium forum 'Brand X' recently Blue-Turf recruiting analyst Michael Wittmann caught up with some of the visitors and got a little feedback on their visits which he shared with subscribers. Here is a sample of what Mike shared ...

I spoke with a few of the players who were in Boise State camps the past two weeks. All of them had great times, learned a lot, and some got to interact with the coaches a bit. It sounds as if many will be evaluated over the next few weeks to see where they fit on the recruiting board. Look for a an offer or two from this group possibly in the next week or two, or else next January or February as a late addition to the class (think Jordan Happle and Jalen Walker last year)

DB Austin Kramer (who made Co-DB MVP): "Franklin was freaking out after I made that 6th pick Coach Hill (who is the area recruiter in Oregon where Kramer is from) said he was gonna have a meeting with Coach Adams and Coach Franklin about me sometime this week and get back to me as too how they choose to proceed. They seem to like me and Boise is a special place."

OL Creston Cooledge: "I had a lot of time with coach Huff. And I was probably top 4 offensive lineman there. I was going against some elite defensive lineman and winning. Coach Huff loves me. I got a feeling I'll be getting an offer soon"

LB CJ Araujo: "I did really well, I learned a lot more things than I did last year and did really well during 1v1s. I didn't win MVP this year (he did last year at camp) but Avalos was talking to me a lot throughout camp. There were a lot of great LBs in my group, I want to say I was in the group that Avalos was really looking at because he told me specifically to go to that group of LBs. They definitely made me have to work extra hard to make myself feel like I belonged in the group. Avalos compared me a lot to himself since we are both a bit small for the position and told me that if I can improve my change of direction then I could become a Bronco. He also said my ability to read plays and make big hits already sets me above other recruits but because I'm only barley pushing 6 ft that I need my to speed up my change of direction to make up for my height disadvantage. He was really honest, he knows what I have to do to play at Boise but he was able to do it so I think he sees potential in me."

DT Zeke Birch (holds an offer): "It was really great those coaches really know what they're doing. They were able to motivate us to be better and to push ourselves and work hard. There were a lot of good players but I felt like I did pretty well. I was in group with Coach Caldwell and it was great to learn from him."

WR Andrew Boston: "Camp went well, i talked with coach Adams alot, as well as the staff. Hopefully ill hear from them soon. I feel me and another kid were the best of the WRs there. Basically with coach Adams most of our conversation was about techniques to my route running. The conclusion I got from our talks was that I've got on their radar and should hear from them later."
