Boise schedules Louisiana-Lafayette and UConn in Football

BOISE, Idaho - The Boise State Football program has scheduled a home-and-home football series with the University of Louisiana at Lafayette from the Sun Belt and the University of Connecticut from the former Big East.
Both teams will be on Boise State's 2014 schedule, with Louisiana Lafeyette coming to Bronco Stadium Sept. 20, and the Broncos traveling to East Hartford, Conn., Sept. 13 to face the Huskies.

The  Boise State football program  will return the game to Louisiana Lafeyettr Sept. 3, 2016, while The  UConn Huskies will make the trip west to Boise Sept. 6, 2018.
In the agreement between Boise State and UConn the schools will exchange game guarantees of $250,000.  In the Boise State - Louisiana agreement, Boise State will pay a game guarantee of $250,000 while ULL will pay a guarantee of $200,000.  This will help with Team Travel costs and expenses.
Louisiana Lafayette, a member of the Sun Belt Conference, has produced back-to-back 9-4 seasons in (2011 and 2012) and two-straight postseason bowl victories in both of those years.
UConn has posted an overall record of 43-33 the past six years.  In 2010 the Huskies won the Big East Conference and played Oklahoma in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.
The Broncos are coming off of an 11-2 season in 2012, which included a tie for the Mountain West Conference Championship and a 28-26 win over Washington in the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas.
Boise State rounded out the 2012 season ranked No. 14 in the USA Today Coaches' Poll, No. 18 in the Associated Press Poll and No. 19 in the final BCS Standings with 2 losses.
The Broncos have the best record in college football since 1997 with an overall mark of 168-35 (.828), and the best home winning percentage since 2000 with a 79-4 record (.952). Since 2005 under Coach Chris Petersen the Broncos have posted a 84-8 record with a (.913) winning percentage, the best in College Football.
