Birch Becomes a Bronco
Zeke Birch is a blue-collar type of young man growing up in Idaho. That mindset was never more evident when he decided to commit to Boise State to play football. Birch said he actually decided about a week ago but didn’t post it on social media for a while because he didn’t commit to make a big scene. He usually lets his hard work and play on the field speak for him but decided to make it official Wednesday evening.
“The coaches were really excited when I committed last week. I talked to Coach Harsin and Coach Caldwell. They spoke to me about what they expect out of me now that I’ve verbally committed.”
While Zeke didn’t grow up with Bronco Stadium in his back-yard being from Rexburg (which is about four and a half hours away from Boise), he certainly knew about Boise State and the quality of their football program. He explained some of the reasons for his commitment.
“I’ve always liked playing football and I think Boise is a great place to go and play. I really like the coaches and I think the program up there is great. I was up there for camp (back in June) and extremely impressed by how well run their camp was and just the way the coaches run things stood out to me. I can tell they really know what they’re doing out there.”
