Banner day for former Broncos
NEW YORK - Former Boise State football players Shea McClellin and Doug Martin were each selected in the first round of the National Football League Draft Thursday, marking the first time in school history two Broncos were selected in the first round of the same draft.

McClellin was selected by the Chicago Bears at No. 19, and Martin was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at No. 31, the second- and fourth-highest Broncos to be drafted in school history, respectively.
Martin and McClellin also give Boise State four first-round draft selections since 2008. Ryan Clady was selected at No. 12 by the Denver Broncos in 2008, and Kyle Wilson was selected at No. 29 by the New York Jets in 2010.
"Shea and Doug's selection in the first round is a testimony to the hard work and commitment they have shown throughout their career as Broncos," Boise State head coach Chris Petersen said. "We are excited for both players and know they will do an outstanding job representing Boise State at Chicago and Tampa Bay."
McClellin started each of his final 37 games with Boise State, earning first-team all-conference honors following both his junior and senior seasons.
Boise State's Defensive Most Valuable Player registered 50 tackles (30 solo) in 2011, the third-most on the team. His seven sacks led the Broncos, and his 12.5 tackles-for-loss ranked second on the team. McClellin also intercepted passes against both Colorado State (Oct. 15) and San Diego State (Nov. 19), and blocked a kick against the Rams.
He was named the Broncos' Outstanding Defensive Lineman in 2010, following a season in which he recorded 30 tackles, including 13.5 for-loss and a team-high nine sacks, both career highs. McClellin also returned both a fumble and an interception for a touchdown during his junior season.
McClellin completed his senior season ranked tied for 15th-nationally amongst active players in career sacks (20.5). He also completed his Bronco career with 130 tackles (64 solo), 33 TFLs, four interceptions and five forced fumbles.
Martin became the sixth running back in Boise State history to record multiple 1,000-yard rushing seasons, finishing with 1,260 yards in 2010 and 1,299 yards in 2011. The totals rank seventh and fourth all-time at Boise State, respectively. His 3,431 career yards ranks fifth all-time at Boise State, and his 17-career 100-yard games - including seven in 2011 - ranks third.
Martin was also just the seventh player in school history to eclipse 4,000-career all-purpose yards, finishing his Bronco career with 4,885, the fifth-most in school history. His 1,892 all-purpose yards in 2011 - including his school-record 301 against Arizona State en route to most valuable player honors in MAACO Bowl Las Vegas - ranked sixth on the all-time Boise State list.
Martin completed his Bronco career with 43 rushing touchdowns, four receiving touchdowns and a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. The rushing scores and total touchdowns (48) each rank third all-time on Boise State's career list.
He scored a career-high 16 rushing touchdowns in 2011, tied for the third-most all-time by a Boise State running back, and finished the season as the 10th-highest-scoring running back in the country.
