Two-way standout lands offer
Two-way standout Will Chandler (5-11, 175, 4.5) from Lake Balboa (Calif.) Birmingham had a tremendous senior season on both sides of the ball and special teams as he helped his team win the Los Angeles City Section Championship.
Chandler is flying a little under the radar and has only taken one visit to the team that has offered him UNLV.
"It was a good trip to UNLV," Chandler said. "It was real nice."
"I liked the environment, the coaches and the players," Chandler said. "I was surprised by how much I liked UNLV. I didn't think the program was that way."
UNLV is recruiting Chandler as a corner, but if he ends up signing with the Rebels, they could be a getting a guy who will end up helping them on both sides of the ball.
"UNLV coaches think that I'm a smooth receiver," Chandler said. "They said I may get a chance to play some wide receiver by sophomore year if I end up playing there. It all depends what I do in practice."
Chandler is still being recruited by Oregon State and Nevada. There could be a late run on Chandler and he is considered one of the best cornerbacks in the L.A. City Section.
