Up close with Mitchell Schwartz
There are few student-athlete prospects nationally that can stand up to Pacific Palisades (Calif.) offensive tackle Mitchell Schwartz. With a 4.3 GPA and an athletic 6-foot-6, 305-pound frame, the talented Palisades high school blocker has long been a priority for the academic elite around the country.
Schwartz first started to gain attention nationally as a sophomore, when he earned all-state underclass honors. He repeated all-state honors as a junior, and is a shoe-in for all-state as a senior. After an impressive showing at the 2006 Palo Alto NIKE Camp, where his strength and physicality were on display, Schwartz begin to collect college offers. Michigan stepped up first, and were quickly followed by Stanford, Tennessee, Virginia, Oregon, and Washington State.
