Jordan mulling over his college options

After taking official visits to Cal, Colorado, Arizona and Oregon State, Cameron Jordan is left to ponder his future. The 6-foot-3, 255-pound defensive lineman from Chandler, Ariz., plans to make his college decision sometime within the next month.

Jordan's commitment could come tomorrow; it could come in early January.

"I am done with trips and now with this dead recruiting period, I can narrow them down," he explained. "My dad's opinion is going to be a big factor in my decision. He went on all the visits with me."

Jordan's most recent trip was to Colorado. Linebackers coach Brian Cabral is responsible for recruiting the Grand Canyon State from the Buffaloes' staff.

"My trip to Colorado was fun," said Jordan. "I would relate that trip a lot with Oregon State. At Cal, there is so much do to because it is by two big cities. I wouldn't say Boulder is isolated because you have Denver just 25 minutes away, but it's a nice college town.

"Arizona, Oregon State and Colorado are all college towns in a way. Oregon State is the smallest of the college towns, Colorado being next and Arizona being the biggest college town. Then you have Cal-Berkeley, which has a big campus. There is so much going on around Cal; that is pretty cool."

Ranked by Rivals.com as the 36th ranked strongside defensive end from the Class of 2007, Jordan could also fill into a defensive tackle at the next level. He was named his conference's Defensive Player of the Year and was an all-state selection this fall after recording 80 tackles and 17 sacks.
