Cal courts Bishop

It can be tough to follow tradition. Coming from a family rich in football history, like City College of San Francisco linebacker Devin Bishop, a 6-foot-2, 230-pound prospect, the legacy is long. His father was a standout at the University of Illinois, and his brother Desmond is just winding up a two-year All Pac-10 career at Cal. Desmond led the Pac-10 in tackles in 2006, and finished 2nd in 2005. For his effort in 2006, Desmond was also named a 3rd team Rivals All-American. Like himself, both Devin's father and brother started their careers at CCSF.

Due to the fact that he'll be a mid-year transfer, Bishop will have to decide whether he follows the tradition of his brother Desmond to Cal, or creates a new road for himself in college football, no later than next week. However, the bright spot for Bishop is that no matter what school he chooses, he'll be keeping one family tradition very much alive. The former Wil C. Wood (Vacaville, Calif.) high school star will be playing linebacker at a Div. 1 school in 2007-08. But which school amongst Cal, Missouri, and Minnesota does he favor?
