Coker: Team could be without 2 stars this weekend

There was some big injury news today, as coach Larry Coker announced that safety Kenny Phillips will "probably" miss the rest of the year. He'll have surgery on a broken bone in his hand, probably this week.


Coker said it's possible Phillips could return for the Boston College game depending on how the surgery goes.


"He's a terrific football player," Coker said. "We still have Brandon Meriweather, Lovon Ponder, also have Willie Cooper. I think it's not good news, but it is a position where we have quality depth."
