Michigan losing ground with Schwartz
At a point this summer, Michigan looked to be in strong shape, possibly leading, for Pacific Palisades (Calif.) offensive tackle Mitchell Schwartz. Leading up to his late August unofficial visit to Ann Arbor, it looked like a strong possibility he may emerge from that trip with a decision, but that never came. Now, it appears Michigan and Schwartz may be going in different directions.
The 6-6, 300-pound Schwartz received a scholarship offer from Michigan last May when defensive coordinator and West Coast recruiter Ron English dropped by the school. Since his visit to Michigan this summer, though, Schwartz says he has not heard from English or other members of the Michigan staff.
