Zion Babb of Alhambra, Calif., Alhambra high school is one of the Oregon Ducks' primary targets at wide receiver. Babb is a muscular 6'2 and 185 pounder who has both the strength to go over the middle and the speed to get deep. Babb had 919 yards receiving and 11 touchdowns as a junior, earning first-team all-league honors and all-Valley recognition along the way.
While he's a definite player on the field, some might consider him something of a player off the field as well. When Duck Sports Authority checked in with Zion recently, one of the things he told us was that he likes "to hang out with family, with friends, and with girlfriends." Take note of the plural. Juggling girlfriends doesn't prevent Babb from being focused on the field and might even help him more effectively meet the challenge of playing two positions this fall for the Moors.

In an earlier interview he told Rivals, "I'll probably get pretty winded sometimes, because our coach is going to play me at free safety, too," the No. 40 ranked prospect in the Rivals.com California top 100 for 2007 said. "I should be OK doing it, though. I mean, I'm fine with it if it helps our team get to where we want to. As a matter of fact, one of the schools (Michigan) recruiting me is talking about me playing both ways if I go there, so all it can do is help me out in the long run."
