Athlete close to committing to Arizona
One of the best prospects at the UA's one-day camp on Sunday was Devin Veal, a 5-foot-11, 165-pound athlete from Buena High School in Sierra Vista, Arizona. Veal, who runs a 4.45-second 40-yard dash, plays football, basketball and baseball at Buena.
As a junior, Veal played mostly quarterback, where he passed for 850 yards with nine touchdowns. He also rushed for 390 yards with four touchdowns on the ground. After a big junior year, he earned offers from Oregon State, Boise State and UTEP.
While Veal is a talented QB, most schools are looking at him to play either wide receiver or cornerback in college. Arizona is recruiting Veal as an athlete and he certainly proved himself as just that on Sunday.
