SoCal corner nearing first scholarship offer?

After transferring schools, Romeo Pellum fell off the recruiting radar early on. But the 5-foot-11, 165-pound cornerback from Santa Fe Springs (Calif.) High is now hearing from more than a dozen Division I programs.

Pellum is the nephew of Oregon linebackers coach Don Pellum and his brother-in-law is Travon Patterson, a highly regarded receiver from the Class of 2006 that signed with Southern Cal.

Pellum expressed high interest in playing Pac-10 football. Arizona State, Oregon and Oregon State are showing the most interest from the conference. Fresno State and San Diego State are also in the mix early on.
