Since his commitment nearly two weeks ago, Ashland, Va., Patrick Henry athlete D.J. Thomas has been tough to get a hold of. Hokiehaven.com finally caught up with the 5-foot-10, 170-pounder to see what made him select Virginia Tech.

"I called coach Cavanaugh and left him a message and then got in touch with him later," Thomas said. "He was very excited about my commitment and congratulated me on making a great decision."

In the end, it wasn't a very difficult decision for the three-star prospect.
