Morgan discusses VT commitment

Rivals250 athlete Davon Morgan added his name to the growing list of recruits Virginia Tech is picking up in the 2007 recruiting class. The 6-foot-0, 184-pounder out of Richmond, Va., Varina selected the Hokies over offers from Michigan and Tennessee.

"I've decided to commit to Virginia Tech," he told friends, family and the media today. "I can say I felt very comfortable at Virginia Tech since it provides me the best fit on and off the field. I particularly liked when I met Torrian Gray at the senior camp. He's a great coach and I look forward to working with him. I also really like Jim Cavanaugh and Frank Beamer. Both of them are great men that are well-respected, truthful and upfront.

"Beyond that, I've always sort of knew I wanted to go to Virginia Tech. I like that they are in-state because that gives me an opportunity to play at home around those that have supported me. They have been showing me love since I was a sophomore while the other schools we're waiting and didn't offer until much later."
