Baker's big showing

Osceola, Ark., wide receiver Cam Baker may have had the best showing of any participant at the 2006 Arkansas Seniors Only Camp on Friday and Saturday, and he also got a rare chance to interact with the UA coaches on a personal level.

Baker, 6-foot, 165 pounds, ran a blistering 40-yard dash time of 4.30 seconds with a hand held stopwatch. He also manuvered the shuttle in a solid time of 4.09 seconds, and Baker dominated against defensive backs both days. The standout has a scholarship offer from the Razorbacks, in addition to offers from Duke, Georgia Tech, Memphis, Arkansas State and most recently Tennessee.

"It was a terrific camp," Baker said. "A lot of players had the chance to be seen. It was terrific overall. I got to talk to the coaches on a personal level instead of over the phone and texting, so I think it's real good."

Arkansas is recruiting Baker as a wide reciever, while others like Georgia Tech and Tennessee are recruiting him as an athlete. He received a Volunteers offer after attending a camp in Knoxville, Tenn.,, and he plans to take an unofficial visit to Georgia Tech, soon.
