Rocklin lineman healing and dealing
After blowing out his knee playing rugby in England, one of the top linemen from the Sacramento area is still drawing interest and is working on getting himself back on the field. With two offers on the table, he likely will pick up a number of offers during the fall when he gets back on the gridiron.
Rocklin, Calif., Rocklin High School two-way star Chase Baker had planned on attending a number of spring and summer camps but it all came to a screeching halt while having some fun over seas playing rugby. He says the incident was unfortunate but doesn't expect it to get in the way of playing DI football.
"It happened in the beginning of April," Baker said. "I went to England to play some rugby and it happened during the last two minutes of the final game."
Baker has offers from Boise State and Sacramento State and says Fresno State would have offered if it hadn't been for the injury.
"They said they would have offered me if I didn't blow out my knee," Baker said. "They said they need to see me back on my knee before they can offer me."
