California receiver high on Michigan
An eventful spring has been followed with a few scholarship offers for Alhambra, Calif., wide receiver Zion Babb. The 6-0, 180-pound pass catcher was out at the NIKE Camp in Los Angeles in April and tested well, showing off his athleticism. Michigan became very interested soon after and has been down to see Babb work out in the last month.
Michigan defensive coordinator Ron English stopped by Alhambra in May too see Babb run in a track meet and to also let the coaching staff there know that their star receiver had an offer to attend Michigan. Head coach Lloyd Carr followed up on that offer with a phone call to Babb.
Arizona and Oregon have also offered Babb and he has been hearing that an offer from Cal may not be far off either. Although each of those schools are West Coast schools and Michigan is in the Midwest, Babb said there is no concern about distance.
